VEHICLE SHIPPING
INFORMATION & TIPS

  • When you place your
    order you will designate
    the first date your
    vehicle is available for
    shipment. Your vehicle
    will be pick-up any time
on that date or as soon
    as possible after
    depending on the
    schedules of the carrier.

  • Transit times may vary
    depending on the time
    of year, weather, road
    conditions, as well as
    the origination and
    destination of your
    particular move. You
    will receive an
    estimated delivery date
    when you place an
    order.

  • If your vehicle is not
    operable, an inop fee
    will be added to the
    transport cost. This will
    be included in your
    quoted rate.

  • You must advise us
    when you request your
    quote of all
    modifications and after
    market add-ons made
    to your vehicle such as
    4x4, lift kit, roof racks,
    camper shell, vehicle
    lowered, off-set wheels,
    etc.

  • Vehicles that are over
    length, over width,
    and/or over height
    must be transported on
    specialized trailers
    made for oversized
    vehicle and equipment.
    These vehicles may take
    longer to ship and cost
    more than an average
    vehicle.

  • Your vehicle must have
    a minimum of 4”
    ground clearance in
    order to safely load and
    unload your vehicle.
    Low ground effect are
    very susceptible to
    damage. Some carriers
    will not cover this type
    of damage. If you are
    concerned you should
    consider an enclosed
    transport.

  • We must have a
    working phone number
    and any alternate
    numbers where you
    may be reached
    throughout the
    transportation of your
    vehicle.  Additionally, a
    separate contact name
    at the origination and
    destination must be
    provided if applicable.

  • We recommend the gas
    tank be between 1/8
    and 1/4 full.

  • Removable radios, CD
    players, DVD’s, garage
    door openers and all
    other personal
    belongings should be
    removed.

  • All alarm systems must
    be disconnected,
    disabled, or turned off.

  • All antennas must be
    fully retracted or
    removed.

  • Under NO
    circumstances can the
    car contain plants,
    firearms, hazardous
    materials, illegal
    substances, contraband,
    or live animals.

  • One set of ALL keys for
    the vehicle must be
    provided.

  • All non-permanent
    luggage racks, bike
    racks, or ski racks must
    be removed.

  • Your vehicle must be
    clean for inspection. A
    dirty vehicle decreases
    the ability to perform a
    quality inspection.

  • Your battery must be
    secure in the mounting
    bracket.

  • The vehicle must have
    no obvious fluid leaks.

  • You or your designated
    individual must be
    present for the
    inspection at the time
    of pick-up and delivery.

  • You or your designated
    individual must sign the
    bill of lading and
    condition report at
    both the pick-up and
    delivery location.

  • You or your designated
    individual is responsible
    for confirming your
    vehicle’s condition. This
    must be done before
    the driver leaves the
    pick-up and delivery
    location.

  • Damage will be noted
    by our carrier/driver on
    the bill of lading at
    origin. In the unlikely
    event there is additional
    damage upon delivery
it will be noted by the
    carrier/driver on the
bill of lading. It is your
    responsibility to make
    sure that all such
    damage is noted.
VEHICLE TRANSPORT FAQ'S

Do you ship vehicles outside the US?
Yes, we can arrange vehicle shipping to all locations worldwide.

How do I place an order?
Call us at 888-712-2095
M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm
or Email us at info@paramount-transportation.com

How long will it take to ship my vehicle?
Deliveries can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Delivery times
have many variables which make it impossible to guarantee any pick or
delivery dates. All dates and times are estimates. We can guarantee that we will
work diligently to ensure there are no unnecessary delays.

How many days prior to my vehicle being ready do I need to place my
order?
The earlier you place your order the better. Regardless or your order date and
pick-up date your transportation coordinator will do everything they can to
meet the estimated pick-up and delivery dates.

Do I have to drop my vehicle off somewhere?
Absolutely NOT! Your vehicle will be picked up and delivered by a professional
carrier.

What is Door to Door service?
Door to Door service means the carrier will pick-up and deliver your vehicle
from your designated locations or a "Point of Safe Access". This means the
carrier will get as close as is safely and legally possible.

What if I'm not available at the time my vehicle is scheduled for pick-up
or delivery?
You may designate an alternate person at the pick-up or delivery locations.
Please make sure this person is aware that an inspection is performed, a
contract bill of lading must be signed, and a cod payment must be paid to the
carrier.

How much will it cost to ship my car?
Prices are determined by pick-up location, delivery location, distance, size and
operability of your vehicle, as well as your choice to use an open or enclosed
carrier.

Why does a larger vehicle cost more to ship?
Larger vehicles take up much more space on the carriers trailer than traditional
passenger vehicles. Because of their dimensions these vehicles take up the
amount of space normally used for two vehicles, thus resulting in the need for
an incremental increase in the fee. Full-size Trucks, Vans & SUV’s along with
various other vehicles fit into this category.

What payment options do I  have?
We require a deposit up front with the balance due COD to the carrier. COD
payments accepted are cash only.

What is the difference between an open and an enclosed trailer?
An open carrier is just that, open. The trailer is made of open framework with
moving racks upon which your vehicle is parked and secured to the trailer via
manufacturer recommended methods. On an Open Carrier your vehicle is
exposed to inclement weather and road conditions just as it is when you are
driving it yourself. An enclosed trailer is like a portable garage. Your vehicle is
parked on moving racks inside the trailer where it is protected from inclement
weather and road conditions. On an enclosed trailer, your vehicle should arrive
in the same condition it was in when you backed it out of your garage. Enclosed
carriers carry less vehicles than open trailers and offer more protection for
your vehicle; therefore, the price to ship your vehicle on an enclosed trailer is
more than on an open trailer. To obtain a quote using an enclosed carrier,
please call us directly at 888-712-2095 or email info@paramount-transportation.

May I pack items inside my vehicle?
We recommend against this as the Federal and State Department of
Transportation (DOT) regulations prohibit the transport of household items in
vehicles being transported by auto carriers. These items are also not covered by
carrier's insurance. Any damage to your vehicle due to these items shifting or
breaking is also not covered. Personal belongings left in the vehicle are shipped
strictly at the owner's risk. Carriers will not inventory any belongings left in the
vehicle and will assume no responsibility. Some items packed in the vehicle
may also add weight that may cause damage to the vehicle. If you still feel the
need to put personal items in your vehicle (Not Household Items) you must limit
them to less than 100 lbs and confine them to the trunk area. Under NO
circumstances can the car contain firearms, hazardous materials, illegal
substances, contraband, house plants, produce, or live animals.

How much gas should I leave in my vehicle?
It is recommended to leave between 1/8 and 1/4 tank of fuel in your vehicle.
However, your vehicle will be transported with any amount

Can I ship my car if it is inoperable?
Yes, but it must be noted at the time you place the order. If your vehicle is not
operable, an inoperable fee will be added to the transport cost. Inoperable
vehicles include but are not limited to, engine does not run or will not stay
running, transmission does not have an operable forward and reverse gear,
brakes don't work, steering does not work.

What is an oversized vehicle?
Oversized vehicles have any one or more of the following: dual rear wheels, lift
kits (body or suspension), oversized wheels or tires and roof racks. An oversized
vehicle fee will be imposed. This fee varies depending on the characteristics of
the vehicle.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Absolutely! Your vehicle is insured during transit by the auto transport carrier's
cargo insurance. We verify the insurance limits and policy effective dates of
every carrier we deal with. Acts of God (hail, floods, hurricanes, avalanches, etc),
along with road debris that can cause minor damage to windshields, paint and
undercarriages (just like when you are driving down the highway) are not
covered. Oil drips onto convertible tops are not covered by the carrier's
insurance. You should always have a full coverage insurance policy in effect
when you ship a vehicle. Your insurance will cover most items not covered by a
carriers cargo insurance policy. To sum it up, the carrier's insurance policies
generally do not cover damage, vandalism, theft or loss that is outside the
drivers control or not caused by driver/carrier neglect. Our customers rarely
report damage due to road debris even on open carriers. However, if this is of
great concern to you, we are able to arrange for your vehicle to be transported
in an enclosed carrier for an additional fee.

What should I do if my vehicle arrives with damage?
Make sure the damage is new and was not on the original bill of lading. The new
damage must be documented on the bill of lading that you sign at the time of
delivery. All damage should be noted and marked clearly and then signed.
Contact the carriers claims department to file a claim and follow the carriers
claims procedures.

What type of paperwork will I need to ship my vehicle?
Your carrier may request to see the registration and/or your drivers license at
the time of pick-up. This is so they can verify who is authorizing the transport of
the vehicle. Upon delivery your carrier may require a drivers license to verify
they are delivering to the correct person. Signatures authorizing transport and
accepting receipt of the vehicle on the bill of lading will be required at pick-up
and delivery.

What happens once my vehicle is scheduled to be picked-up?
You should receive a call from the carrier within 24 hours in advance of your
pick-up date. The driver will arrive, review and inspect the vehicle, have you
sign the bill of lading and load it on the truck. The reverse happens at the
delivery location.
